Returns & Exchanges
- We do not accept returns or exchanges on food, wine, or gift cards, once they leave the store. Unfortunately we cannot control how food and wine are stored or handled once it leaves us, and thus we accept returns.
- Culinary tools are eligible for return within 15 days of purchase. All items must be returned in original condition, in original packaging, to the original store of purchase. Receipts are required for all returns.
- Things happen - should you receive a product with a quality defect, please call us at 443.282.0220 within 30 days of purchase.
Harassment & Unkind Behavior
- We maintain a zero tolerance policy on bias, harassment, and bullying of any kind in our stores. Staff and guests who demonstrate unkind behavior toward our staff or fellow guests may be asked to leave.
Charitable Giving
- We have many philanthropic interests and focus our giving to programs focused on food equity, education, and animal welfare.
- Charitable giving requests for programs or events that focus on the above topics may be sent to Jenn & John at info@chesterrivergourmet.com
Wine Discounts & Special Orders
- We offer an everyday, off the shelf, 10% mixed case (12 bottle) discount
- With 5 business days notice, we will happily order a single label case for you, at a 20% discount.
- We cannot typically extend our additional discount to cases pulled off of the shelf. On occasion we have extra inventory. When this happens we will offer an, “off the floor” 20% discount for single-label case requests. We’re a tiny shop. Unfortunately we cannot do this all the time as we typically only stock 1-2 cases of any single label, at any given time.
Cheese Boards
- We are delighted to make custom cheese boards for our guests with 24 hours notice. We are a small team and prepare all boards early in the morning to manage our workflow. To place a cheese board order, please call us at 443.282.0220.
Cheese & Charcuterie Counter
- The majority of our cheese and charcuterie is cut to order.
- Saturday in the wine & cheese shop can be very busy. We appreciate everyone’s patience. Our quietest days are Wednesday, Thursday, & Sunday.
- Please know that your cheese & charcuterie can be purchased days prior to consumption. If you would like to skip the line or expedite your visit, please call us the day before and we’ll have your order packed up and ready to go. We particularly appreciate this if your order is large or complex.
- We do not slice cheese on our deli slicer due to cross contamination of meat and cheese. Additionally, many of our cheese is farmstead style, it does not slice well on a deli slicer. We highly recommend chunking or using a cheese plane to cut cheese for use on sandwiches.
Gift Cards
- Our gift cards are accepted at Chester River Wine & Cheese at 117 S. Cross Street for 4 years from date of purchase. They are hard plastic cards. Please hold on to them. Receipts do not include your full gift card number, and thus we are unable to use your receipt in lieu of the physical gift card.
- Our gift cards may be issued as a “store credit” for returns or exchanges
- Gift cards are like cash - they cannot be replaced if lost or stolen
- Gift cards may not be redeemed for cash. Your balance will remain on your card until it reaches $0.
- You are welcome to gift your gift card forward, donate it, or use it
